The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR is a budget zoom lens built for Nikon DX-format D-SLRs. It features a 3x zoom and a focal range from 18 to 55 mm, which covers most common scenarios that do not require a high zoom or capture of a moving subject in low light.

The autofocus uses a fast and quiet motor that finds the subject quickly, and a Super Integrated Coating increases accurate color reproduction. There are separate rings for zoom and focus, making the lens easier to use. Image Stabilization is used to account for up to 3 shutter speeds of motion, enabling handheld shooting. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm creates a more circular aperture for natural blurs on out-of-focus elements.
