The VR (Vibration Reduction) Image Stabilization accounts for several f-stops of motion in normal mode, and can switch to an active mode to compensate for panning. Auto-focus is managed by a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) which finds the subject quickly and quietly, and can operate in an M-A mode to allow near-instant manual focus when needed. 4 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements improve resolution and contrast, and a 9 blade rounded diaphragm provides a natural blur to out-of-focus elements. Internal Focusing (IF) provides body balance, and avoids rotation of filters when zooming.
