The Pros:Excellent at close focus, can move right up to the subject. Output is consistent throughout the focal range, doesn't distort. Built with heavier, more durable materials.
The Cons:Fairly heavy, tends to throw the camera a bit off balance. Some lens creep is noticeable, need to take the shot right away. Focus motor is fairly loud, not very subtle.
